Privacy Policy

Golfhelg is operated by Ola Kruge, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. To ask a privacy question or exercise your rights, select “Share feedback” under “More” in the mobile app. Do not include passwords or other sensitive information.

When you first use Golfhelg, an anonymous guest account is created with a random user ID and an authentication session. If you register an account or sign in, we process your email address and the authentication information required for the service. If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, Golfhelg receives information that the provider shares in accordance with your choices, such as your name and email address.

Golfhelg stores information you enter to organise golf weekends and keep score. This may include player names, handicaps, gender for tee selection, teams, courses, hole layouts, scores, tournaments, rounds, sharing codes and game-format settings.

If you create a player profile or use social features, we may also store your display name, username, home club, friend connections, sharing preferences, shared round summaries, clubhouse memberships, round proposals, responses and reactions.

When you submit feedback in the app, we store its category, any rating, your message, user ID, app version and platform. If saving fails, the app may automatically record the user ID, affected game or round ID, error type, number of attempts and duration so that we can detect and prevent data loss. If you select “Report a problem” and approve diagnostics, a diagnostic ID is also recorded. Scores and tournament data are not attached to the problem report.

The app stores information on your device, including your authentication session, language and theme settings, saved players and temporary score drafts. This allows the app to remember your choices and retry saving after a poor network connection.

We process account, profile and game data to provide the features you request, including scorekeeping, leaderboards, tournament administration, live sharing, friends, clubhouses and resuming active rounds. The legal basis is that the processing is necessary to provide the service to you.

We process technical data and limited error diagnostics to operate Golfhelg securely and reliably and to correct errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and improving Golfhelg, balanced against the impact on your privacy. We process voluntary feedback and diagnostics you actively approve in order to respond to your request.

We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites.

Golfhelg uses Supabase for guest and account authentication, its database and application-data storage. The website and web app are hosted by Vercel, which also provides aggregated web analytics and performance measurements. Vercel may process technical data such as your IP address, page address, time of access, approximate location, browser and device for operations, security and aggregated statistics.

Apple or Google is used as an authentication provider only when you choose that option. These providers process information under their own privacy terms. We otherwise share information with service providers only when necessary to provide, secure and operate Golfhelg, and we require them to protect the information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Tournaments and leaderboards can be shared with others using a link or code. Anyone with access to the link or code can see the relevant player names, scores and leaderboard for that tournament or round.

Registered users can find your player profile by display name, username or home club. Accepted friends can see round summaries that you have chosen to share. Members of the same clubhouse can see membership information, contributions, round proposals, responses, reactions and relevant clubhouse statistics.

We retain account and game data for as long as necessary to provide the service, or until the account is deleted. Registered users and guests can delete their account under “More” in the mobile app. When deletion is complete, the account and data linked to it are deleted, including tournaments you own, saved games, scores, your profile, friendship data and diagnostic events.

Submitted feedback and certain operational and security logs may be retained for as long as necessary to respond to requests, prevent misuse or document errors. Information stored only on your device is removed when you delete it in the app, clear the app data or uninstall the app.

Depending on the processing, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or data portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can delete your account and associated data directly under “More”. For other requests, use “Share feedback” in the same place in the mobile app.

If you believe that Golfhelg processes personal data in breach of applicable rules, you can lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
